About the Project
In an ongoing effort to provide quality wireless service, AT&T has identified your community as one that will benefit from improved network coverage.
Milestone Towers is proposing a wireless telecommunications facility at Hamilton Safety Center, addressed 39071 East Colonial Highway, Hamilton, VA 20158.
The proposal is for a 160-foot monopole and will include ground equipment required to operate the facility.
This equipment will be located at the base of the structure in a secure fenced area. AT&T will be the first wireless carrier to locate on the proposed tower.
Update #6: The Milestone Towers project will go before the Planning Commission at an upcoming work session – date to be determined.

We are still in the process of working through public comment; additional updates and any changes to the application will be provided on the project website as they become available.

Update #3: We want to thank the community members who participated in the Town Hall on Monday, December 18th.
We received many detailed and well-informed comments, and we will be working to provide a comprehensive response. This information, along with a link to the Town Hall meeting video, will be made available on our website in January.
We understand the importance of keeping the community informed, and we appreciate your patience as we work diligently to compile and analyze the feedback received.
Update #2: Based on the current weather forecast, we will move forward with the balloon fly as scheduled on Saturday, December 16th from 8:00 to 12:00 pm.
Update #1: There are two upcoming community events:
Community Balloon Fly: On Saturday, December 16th from 8:00 am – 12:00 pm a balloon will be flown at the proposed location and height to provide a visual reference for the tower.
Online Town Hall: On Monday, December 18th @ 6:00 pm we will hold an online Town Hall webinar consisting of a short presentation followed by a question and answer time. Registration is required and can be completed on the Town Hall page.
(IN CASE OF BAD WEATHER THE BALLOON FLY WILL BE RESCHEDULED FOR SUNDAY December 17TH FROM 8:00 AM TO 12:00 PM. THE DECISION WILL BE MADE BASED ON THE WEATHER FORECAST AND POSTED HERE ON THE HOME PAGE BY 6 PM friday, December 15th.)
Our Process
1. Due Diligence
Survey, FAA, FCC, NEPA, Phase 1, Geotechnical Analysis.
2. Land Use
Special Exception Application, Community Meeting, Staff Review, Planning Commission, Board of Supervisors.
3. Permitting
Conduct Bid Walk With Contractors, submit Site Plan and Building permit applications.
4. Construction
Tower construction = 4-6 weeks | Carrier construction = 4-6 weeks on average
On-site supervision by Construction Manager.
5. Site Maintenance
Four visits per year for site maintenance | Remove trash, debris, check signage.
2-4 visits per year for carrier modifications.
